<p><font face="Times New Roman" size="5"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 16pt">Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR), an essential ingredient of programs for persons with disabilities (PWD) in developing countries. When CBR was first coined by the WHO, it was viewed as a means of addressing the needs of PWD especially in poor rural communities with few resources. This presentation will highlight how CBR has evolved over the years from a focus on the individual and their impairment(s), to a more holistic approach that is effective as a vehicle for community development, disability rights and poverty reduction.</span></font></p>
